Back to Team Snow
Select Rider:

What makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning?

Sunshine or lots and lots of snow makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning. My bedroom is on the first floor and the snow at my house is about 4 feet deep, so when the snow starts to pile up against the window I know we have had a big storm.

What is your all-time favorite food?

My all time favorite food is most definitely sushi. I love that you can try so many different things in one meal.

Do you have a favorite website or blog?

My favorite website is Perezhilton.com. It is my guilty pleasure for getting all the Hollywood gossip. He basically knows everything scandalous on any celebrity that has ever existed.

What is your favorite piece of clothing? Why?

My favorite piece of clothing at the moment would have to be a furry scarf that also has fringe on it. My grandmother gave it to me for Christmas and it is awesomely Dallas meets Aspen.

Bio
One of Roxy’s newest teammates is East Coast Skier Jessica Cumming. Jessica was practically born on skis learning in the Lake Tahoe, California area at just age two. Shortly after her debut, her family packed up the bags and headed back to Connecticut on the East Coast where she became a weekend warrior by the time school let out on Friday afternoon, trekking North to her family’s mountain house in Vermont for some serious action on the slopes.

During high school, Jessica started racing downhill and finished at the top of the game as Connecticut’s state champ several years in a row. Being a huge success at chasing gates was just the start for her on the pro circuit.

A senior in high school, Jessica bought her first pair of twin tips skis and started skiing with the guys. The gang soon became marked as the rebels at the local mountains where the rode through terrain parks that were meant for snowboarders only. This free skiing riding style was spreading like wild fire at mountains and parks everywhere.

In 2001, Jessica’s freeskiing style went from just a fun, rebellious act to a professional opportunity when she attended High North Ski Camp in Whistler, Canada. It was here where her skills of jumping and rail sliding progressed into a style of her own that was seen mainly in the snowboard parks. In 2003, she entered the US Freeskiing Open and placed third in slopestyle. Unfortunately, the following year she suffered from a serious knee injury at the US Freeskiing Open, the same event that kicked off her pro status the previous year, ending her season early in January.

Since then Jessica has found a place for herself in the pro competitions and has rehabbed her knee as much as possible. Skiing full force in 2005, Jessica realized how much she loved the Halfpipe and made the decision to put her focus into this part of the terrain for competitions. Her passion for freeskiing is evident as she continues to place high on the ratings. She has placed 1st and 2nd in numerous Halfpipe competitions throughout the country including East Coast Freeskiing Open Halfpipe, NOR-AM Halfpipe and American Freeski Tour Halfpipe. Jessica will continue to break the limits of the sport and remains in the "who to watch lists" everywhere.
