Bio
This head-to-toe Roxy girl is currently mastering a balancing actshes a pro snowboarder as well as produces and directs snowboard movie projects. Originally from Portland Maine, Amber Stackhouse now lives in Salt Lake City, UT. She has a thirst for knowledge, a zest for life and is constantly on the go. She is a leader who always achieves her goals. Amber first started riding in 1995 when she lived in Maine. Amber soon fell in love with snowboarding.
In hopes of becoming a professional snowboarder, Amber moved to Mammoth Mountain, CA in 2000. She worked at night in the local shops and restaurants so that she could spend her days on the slopes. All her hard work on the mountain paid off. She developed her own unique style with beautifully corked backside three tail- grabs. The following season she won the American Snowboard Tours Slopestyle event and the rest is history.
Contests were not enough for Amber. Watching her guy friends develop snowboard movies planted a seed in Ambers mind. She thought, why dont girls have snowboarding movies? Why should they be overlooked? Amber was right along side girls snowboarding as it began to explode and started creating movies to document its progress. Her films gave an interesting behind-the-scenes look into womens snowboarding.
In 2004, Amber co-founded a production company named Misschief Films. It has produced two groundbreaking all-girl snowboarding films, As If and Ro Sham Bo. Amber just wrapped up production on the Roxy snow team movie, Labor of Love.
Amber has been featured in every major snowboarding publication and has graced the slopes at the best snowboarding events. She constantly gives back to her snow community by helping to teach girls how to ride at Roxy snow camps. Her plate is full and yet Amber is always down to kick back with some good conversation with her friends.
