TILLY AND THE WALL
Listen to "Cacophony"
TILLY & THE WALL's first release, 2002's Woo!, was recorded in Conor Oberst's (aka Bright Eyes) garage, then self-released and distributed at shows around the band's native Omaha, Nebraska. The group released a limited-pressing eponymous 7" on Rue Royale Records, followed by their debut LP, Wild Like Children, in 2004. The band's new album, simply titled "o", was released on June 17th.

TOKYO POLICE CLUB
Listen to "Juno"
TOKYO POLICE CLUB bassist/vocalist David Monks once described the band's music as "wide-eyed post-punk with a tendency to get over excited - so much so that someone has to come and tell it to settle down." The band's latest effort, Elephant Shell, is the sound of four early-20-somethings now seasoned after hundreds of shows (including Coachella and Glastonbury). With Elephant Shell, TPC has matured a bit, having learned to temper and modulate their own more varied musical moods.

THE VIRGINS
Listen to "Rich Girls"
On their recently released self-titled debut, THE VIRGINS exemplify the sound and style of downtown New York City in 2008. The band came together in 2006, the brainchild of songwriter/performer Donald Cumming. Having lived on NYC's streets since the age of 16, Cumming's teen years were chronicled by artist/photographer Ryan McGinley in his now-legendary debut solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

GOOD SHOES
Listen to "Photos On My Wall"
GOOD SHOES is an emerging English indie pop band hailing from Morden, London. The four-piece are becoming well known for the upbeat, technical guitar pop featured on their full-length debut, Think Before You Speak. The band has drawn comparisons with both modern bands (The Futureheads for example) and "classic" bands, such as The Jam and The Buzzcocks.

LAND OF TALK
Listen to "Some Are Lakes"
LAND OF TALK doesn't pretend that their new album, Some Are Lakes, is a departure, or a disconnected effort from the last. It's simply a continuation of the internal conversation that singer Elizabeth Powell has been holding with herself since she began this musical lark, more than a decade ago.

THE M'S
Listen to "Big Sound"
THE M'S were formed in early 21st century Chicago. During that time they held their very first board meetings and unanimously elected themselves to the positions of producer, engineer, songwriter, singer, drummer, guitarist, bassist, slide whistler, mouth harpist, keyboard player, arranger, rock god, intern and beer drinker - in no particular order.

SMALL WHITE LIGHT
Listen to "Spite"
Here's what The Fly magazine had to say about SMALL WHITE LIGHT: "Their epic, psychedelic indie-rock suits a bigger stage. All in black before a sequence of film projections, they effortlessly convey the sense of an Event. Shades of Radiohead, electric Dylan and a skinny English Queens of the Stone Age converge, but the light shines through."
