Ty Walker BIOGRAPHY

Only 15 years old, Ty Walker is well on her way to being one of the top snowboarders in the world. At 7 years old, Ty told her first snowboard coach that she wanted to be the best. Today, Ty has won numerous awards and is one of the youngest snowboarders to have stood on the podium at high-level pro events. Already a world traveler, Ty ventures all over North America, Europe, and New Zealand to shred the slopes and hone her craft. When she’s not out on the hill she can be found spending time with friends and family, jumping on her trampoline, playing field hockey, marking first base on an otherwise all-boys baseball team, or maintaining her straight-A average. A big believer in the old adage, if you put your mind to something and work towards a goal, success will follow; Ty is living proof.

Proudest accomplishment: Making it onto the US Team when I was 14!

Best trip ever: My latest trip to New Zealand is at the top of the list right now.

What you love most about snowboarding: The thing that I love most about snowboarding is how much you can incorporate your own style into your riding and be as creative as you want. It's great because there is no "perfect" way to snowboard; you can do whatever you want.

Favorite place to snowboard: Breckenridge, Colorado!

What you’re rocking this season: Roxy Ollie Pop

Most inspiring snowboard film: "Art of Flight"

My pre-snowboarding routine: I usually wake up, make some tea, stretch, eat a big breakfast, check the weather on the mountain, get my gear on, and head up to the mountain with my friends.

Contest or filming: Filming

Tunes that get you pumped for a pow day: Modest Mouse "Float On" and anything Taylor Swift

Favorite trick: Backside 540.

Contest or filming: At this point, I would definitely say that I'm more of a contest rider. I've only ever done small filming projects, like edits from my season, podcasts, or things like that. Maybe I'll get more into filming in the future, because I love watching snowboard movies and edits online and I think it would be cool to showcase my riding in that way.

My friends and I like to: Goof off a lot! We're always having a good time and joking around with each other.

In five years I hope to be: Going to my second Olympics as a major contender in slopestyle, as well as being a solid and progressive pipe rider.

Advice for girls who want to come up in snowboarding: One of the best things you can do is get another one of your friends to do it with you so that you can hang out and progress together. It’s always more fun to snowboard with friends and it keeps you motivated.
